A team of researchers from our school in collaboration with Centre for Drug Research USM has published an original research paper on the topic above in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Impact Factor 2.59). The team, led by Dr Lee Chong Yew had reported that derivatives from aurone scaffolds have shown better ability to cross the blood-brain-barrier (BBB) which in turn will be beneficial as a potential lead compound. This research was aimed to discover new treatment agent for Alzheimer disease, and as of now, the compounds showed in vivo feasibility as a CNS-active compound.
