THREE ACADEMICIANS WERE INVITED AS SPEAKERS DURING NHAM-CRM RESEARCH TRACK SYMPOSIUM
Three of our academic staffs, including our former dean were invited as speakers during a symposium organized by National Heart Association of Malaysia & Clinical Research Malaysia (NHAM-CRM) on 8th of April 2017 at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur. Prof. Dr Munavvar Zubaid Abdul Sattar, Assoc. Prof Dr Asrul Akmal Shafie and Dr Hassan A. Rathore had presented their latest progress on research concerning cardiology and cardiovascular diseases (CVD). The symposium with a theme to “Discover, Collaborate and Translate” had managed to gather 15 renown local physicians, pharmacists, lecturers and researchers on the topic to showcase basic science, translational research and latest clinical research from various institution in Malaysia. This full-day program on research track is a new initiative by the CRM with co-organization by NHAM to open more opportunities and encourage interests for more basic translational research to be carried on in the future.
The invitation of these three academicians is a sign that research conducted in School of Pharmaceutical Sciences are recognized as up-front, significantly up-to-date with the need of the society and patients. This is indeed in line with the School’s and USM aspiration; We Lead.
