Course Sypnosis/Objective
Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is offering its Interprofessional Collaboration in Healthcare (IPC) Course. Emphasizing a healthcare team approach, the course aims to foster the implementation of interventions that promote effective interprofessional collaboration practices in healthcare settings. It also educates learners on conflict management within interprofessional teams. The course introduces Pharmacist Workup of Drug Therapy (PWDT) as a tool for identifying Pharmaceutical Care Issues (PCI) and Drug-Related Problems (DRP) while providing patient care. The IPC course includes both didactic (theoretical, online) and experiential learning (practical, face-to-face) components.

The aim of this course is to equip pharmacists with comprehensive knowledge of the basic principles of drug teratogenicity and drug pharmacokinetics during pregnancy, as well as the necessary skills to perform drug therapy assessments for various medical conditions that require chronic medication use.

"Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms 101 is an introductory course meant to expose learners to the basis behind the design of dosage forms. Different dosage forms will be covered in this course module including syrup, solution, suspension and emulsion, among others. Learners will also learn about sterile dosage forms such as injections and infusions. This course will explain the characteristics of each dosage form and the important things to pay attention to, to ensure the stability of the dosage forms during storage. In addition, learners will also be exposed to the correct way of handling and administering the products formulated in the different dosage forms. This course consists of 5 main sections, with at least 3 learning activities in each section. To assess the attainment of learning outcomes and course objectives, a short assessment will be given at the end of the course. A digital certificate will be given upon completion of the course."
