PHARMACY CARNIVAL AND OPEN DAY 2017

School of Pharmaceutical Sciences has successfully organized a one-day carnival and open day on 11^th of May 2017. The carnival was jointly organized by the students and staffs of the school, with an aim of engaging the general public and staffs of USM with pharmacy, the school and its activity. It was officiated by the Vice Chancellor of USM, Prof Dr Asma Ismail during a memorable ceremony in the presence of the Dean, the Deputy Deans, staffs and students of the school. Among the program outlined for the day were talks of medication safety by representative from Pharmacy Enforcement Office Penang, talks on cosmetics awareness by Puan Fatimatuzzahra’ Abdul Aziz, exhibition booths and sales by entrepreneurs, charity sale booth by Science for Society Project and health check-up by pharmacy students.

As part of the event, 20 students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jelutong were also invited to involve in the carnival and they were exposed to the pharmacy course and life as a pharmacy student. It is hoped that the activities that were conducted during the carnival has given a significant impact to those that were involved, either directly or indirectly.
