Barringtonia asiatica, is a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia and is commonly found in coastal areas. The tree has various medicinal uses, and different parts of the plant (such as the bark, leaves, seeds, and flowers) are utilised in traditional medicine. Here are some of the medicinal uses of Pokok Putat:

  1. Anti-inflammatory and Pain Relief:
    • The bark of the Pokok Putat has been traditionally used in treating inflammation and pain. It is often used as a poultice or in decoctions to help alleviate conditions like rheumatism and joint pain.
  2. Antimicrobial and Antifungal:
    • The plant has been known to have antimicrobial properties. Extracts from the leaves and bark are used to treat infections and skin conditions. They can help in healing wounds and reducing the risk of infection when applied topically.
  3. Wound Healing:
    • The leaves of Pokok Putat are sometimes used in poultices to promote wound healing and stop bleeding. The antimicrobial properties of the leaves aid in preventing infections in cuts and abrasions.
  4. Diuretic Effects:
